Birds "Prey" on West Lauderdale

The American Eagle Foundation presented its ''Birds of Prey'' program for students at West Lauderdale Middle School.

America's national symbol, the bald eagle, was featured, along with a falcon, hawk, owl, and even a vulture.

"It's really important I think for future generations to be able to see the beauty of these animals. Not only are they beautiful to look at, but they're very important for the environment," said Kevin Buchanan, a wildlife program coordinator with AEF. "That's one of the things we try to teach the kids. Everything has its place in the environment. Everything is kind of linked together like a chain. If you remove one of the links of that chain, then everything in nature starts to fall apart."

The American Eagle Foundation takes its programs to schools around the country.
