The city of Meridian has put some protective fencing around a downtown landmark.
You may have noticed the fencing blocking the front of the Threefoot Building. It's there because a city inspector discovered loose bricks in the vicinity of the 13th floor and the building owner is now having it repaired.
There is no change in the status of the vacant building itself.
Meridian's chief administrative officer, Ken Storms, said despite the loose bricks, the building is structurally sound. However, he added the building needs upgrading code wise.
