Supervisors Discuss Flooding Issues

The federal government has agreed to supply almost $550,000 to purchase houses in Lauderdale County that are subject to repeated flooding.

Under the agreement, the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will pay 75 percent of the appraised value of the structures.

Lauderdale County will pay for appraisals and closing costs. Twelve such homes have been approved for the program.
