The Mississippi Department of Health has confirmed four more cases of influenza from Hinds, Harrison, and Forrest Counties.
Health officials urge flu priority groups to go and protect themselves now.
"We're trying to aim for the highest risk people. Most of us, if we got the flu, would feel miserable for about a week and then it would be a memory in a couple weeks," said Dr. Rebecca James, District 6 health officer. "For people who are over 50 who have chronic illnesses, children under the age of two, if they got the flu it could be terminal."
Flu vaccine will be available at Bonita Lakes Mall on Saturday, Jan. 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 13 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
