Even though it actually did rain on the parade, that didn't stop a crowd from coming out to enjoy a traditional salute to our nation's veterans, past and present.

The Mississippi band of Choctaw Indians organized the second annual Veterans Day Parade.

In spite of less than perfect weather, the parade went on and people showed up in force.

Jo Billie, one of the onlookers, talked about her family's military background.

"I come from a family of veterans. I have two brothers who are marines. My father was in the horse cavalry in World War II. I think it was right before the war ended. He joined the National Guard in the horse cavalry," said Billie.

Billie said she has two brothers in Iraq and that she appreciates any recognition given to the military.
