A new kind of ministry will be launched Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the corner of Harris Street and 30th Avenue in Meridian.
Rev. Terrence Roberts describes New Wine Ministries as a modern
church for the new millennium.
"According to statistics, about 60 percent of our population are what we call un-churched," said Roberts, who founded NWM. "They don't go to church on a regular basis. And a lot of times they don't go because they don't feel church is culturally relevant for their day. So what we're trying to do is to provide a culturally relevant service that they can come to, get introduced to God, get to know more about God."
A block party will be held at a vacant lot on 30th Avenue and Harris Street Saturday, Oct. 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A celebration service is
set for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the same location.
