A Lauderdale County teenager died in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
The accident happened on Briarwood Road in front of Taylor's Pak-a-Sak.
Sheriff Billy Sollie identified the driver as Kayla Oliver, 17, a student at Northeast High School.
The Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash.
"Eyewitnesses have indicated that it was a one-vehicle accident. There were no other vehicles involved. The driver appeared to have lost control, left the roadway and struck a wooden fence and a home here in the Briarwood area," Sollie said.
With rain in the forecast through Wednesday, Sheriff Sollie encouraged all motorists to slow down, since wet roads can contribute to wrecks.
