An employee and another man have been charged with embezzlement and attempted armed robbery at Channel 24 in Meridian.
Lauderdale County Chief Deputy Mike Mitchell said Vincent Allen Phalp, 20, of Meridian, and Joseph Colby Davenport, 19, of Collinsville were charged Thursday.
Mitchell said the pair is accused of taking a camera and related equipment, most of which has been recovered.
Phalp, who worked for the station, and Davenport are also accused of trying to hold up a pizza delivery person outside the station on Crestview Circle. However, they were unsuccessful.
Phalp was also held for alleged probation violation. Davenport was held for an outside law enforcement agency.
