An employee described as "disgruntled" opened fire early Monday at the Northrop Grumman Shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss., critically wounding two co-workers.

Police identified the alleged shooter as Alexander L. Lett, 41, of Moss Point, a 20-year employee of the company.

Authorities said Lett tried to leave the building following the shooting, but was stopped by other employees.

"We do know there's a Northrop Grumman employee that assisted greatly in us being able to get Mr. Lett into custody," said Lt. Paul Leonard of the Pascagoula Police Department. "And we believe he's the key in helping us to regain the control there this morning."

The two wounded employees, Ben Gaffney and Bubba Eddins, underwent surgery and were listed in critical condition.
