Carver Middle School held its annual Adopt-a-School program Tuesday morning.
The recognition ceremony allows the students to know that there are people and businesses out there that care about education.
"The program is important because it is a combination of educators, businesses, parents, and just the community in general where they show interest in the school and they show interest in individual students," said Carver Principal Robert Markham. "And this teamwork makes it possible for us to do some things that our budget won't allow us to do. And it allows us to get things for kids that we probably couldn't buy from our budget."
The teachers and principal of Carver Middle School encourage all businesses to get involved in local schools.
