An arrest has been made in a brutal rape and beating in Scott County.
Forest Police Chief Mike Lee said the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday when a resident in her 30s was walking home from the grocery store.
Lee said it appears the suspect beat the woman with his hands and possibly some rocks.
Ricky Shepard, 34, of Forest has been charged.
"He is charged with aggravated assault and rape. He is charged with strong armed robbery and we're also investigating to see if he had any type of communicable diseases that could have been passed along to her (victim), which he may have already had prior knowledge of," Chief Lee said.
Shepard's bond was not immediately set.
