Mission: Prayer

Mission Meridian announced details of its annual Mayor's Leadership Prayer Breakfast at a news conference Friday.

It will be held Friday, Apr. 1 at 6:45 a.m. at the Highland Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Organizers stress that this event is not about the mayor, but about something much more important.

"We believe that prayer makes a difference in our hometown and it has made a difference," said Mayor John Robert Smith. "It has changed the spirit of the community. It has seen us through good times, but more importantly, it has seen us through some tough times we have had lately."

The breakfast is designed for people to come together and pray for our city officials.

Special speakers include Dr. Roger Parrott, president of Belhaven College in Jackson; Justice James Graves of the Mississippi Supreme Court, and Dr. Dolphus Weary, executive director of Nission Mississippi.

If you would like to be involved, you may call Mission Meridian at (601) 693-1332.
