All 17 graduates of the 2004 Practical Nursing class at East Central Community College in Decatur have successfully passed their licensing exam, the NCLEX, on the first attempt.
"The PN Program is a fast-paced, one year program requiring great determination and perseverance. To have a 100 percent pass rate on the first write speaks to the excellence of the faculty at East Central Community College and the dedication of the practical nursing students in achieving this success," said Wayne Eason, dean of Career-Technical Education.
Lori Luke and Kathy Elliott were the instructors.
Members of the 2004 Class include Katie Burrage-Allard, Valerie Nicholson, Genna Pope and April McCurty, all of Philadelphia; Jessica Bricker, Lena; Bonnie Harrell, Keneshia Thomas, Gloria Martin and Celeste Martin, all of Carthage; Vincent McElhenney and Laura Rosar, both of Union; Anne Steptoe, Forest; Shelby Swanner, Bailey; Chris Weaver, Louisville; Ashley White, Newton; and John Johnson and Derek Wright, both of Meridian.
