Portions of two downtown streets were closed for a short time Wednesday, after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
The accident happened shortly after 9:30 Wednesday morning on the corner of 23rd Avenue and 4th Street.
"The pedestrian was headed East on 4th Street, across 23rd Avenue," said Officer Travis Ruffin of the Meridian Police Department. "He didn't yield to the oncoming traffic which was coming on 23rd Avenue South."
Investigators say the man received minor injuries. Meanwhile, they say the driver of the car will not face any charges. About 30 minutes after the accident traffic on the roadway resumed.
