Mississippi's jobless rate fell for the third month in a row during
September.

Even though it was down from August, Clarke County again had the highest unemployment level in the state, at 16.5 percent

According to the Mississippi Employment Security Commission, construction, agriculture and education showed gains in the number of jobs.

Mississippi - 5.7%

  • Clarke County - 16.5%
  • Newton - 5.4%
  • Kemper - 8.0%
  • Neshoba - 4.2%
  • Lauderdale - 5.5%
  • Jasper - 5.6%
