With April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Wesley House is doing its part in the cause.

The agency well-known for its assistance to needy families hosted the Lynda Clardy Child ID Program.

The emphasis is to make sure all parents have a copy of their children's fingerprints on hand, as well as a current photo, in case of an emergency.

"Something like this, you never understand the full value of it until it happens to your child," said Ginger Stevens of Wesley House.

The Child ID Program is a free service made possible though sponsors and merchants.

The ID program travels all over the state throughout the year in an effort to ensure every child's safety.
