For more than three decades, The Sandwedge Golfers Association has been an active part of the local community, participating in a number of charitable events.
"We give scholarships to deserving kids," said member Al Willis.
Brittany Bumpers received a scholarship this year.
Through its Junior Golf Program, the 32-member organization is taking its passion for the sport of golf and trying to make a difference in the lives of local youngsters by teaching them life skills and exposing them to golf.
Golfers say the sport can teach kids the keys to success, such as fairness, courtesy, honesty, patience and discipline.
