At least part of a nearly three-week-long mystery has been solved. One of two jail escapees from Louisiana, at one time believed to be in the Lauderdale-Clarke County area in Mississippi, has been found.

Stephen Wright was captured Wednesday after deputies searched a residence and then conducted surveillance on a home north of Shreveport, La., which is Wright's hometown.

When Wright was taken into custody, officers allegedly found methamphetamines on him. He's now charged with possession of illegal drugs, as well as escape.

The search for the second escapee, Dayle Peters, continues. Authorities say they have a tip that he might be in his native Dallas, Texas.

Local law enforcement spent several days looking for the suspects after a vehicle allegedly stolen by them was found abandoned here.
