The Ten Commandments monument will stay in the Alabama judicial building, at least for now.
District Judge Myron Thompson Monday stayed an injunction he issued last week requiring Chief Justice Roy Moore to remove the monument by Jan. 3.
The stay allows time for a higher court to review Moore's appeal.
Thompson ruled last month that the monument is unconstitutional and must be removed.
