A group of missionaries from the Southern Baptist Convention is in Meridian this week.
Their method of ministry has more to do with paint brushes and screwdrivers than church pews and offering plates.
Most teenagers spend their summer earning extra cash or enjoying the sunshine, but the world changers are actually spending money to work for free this summer.
One hundred twenty-five high school students from four different states have paid their own way to be a part of a work and witness trip in Meridian this week.
At 15 separate locations throughout the city these teenagers are spreading the gospel with a little elbow grease.
"You know, it's a lot of hard work, but in the end, but if you're helping out a family and showing them God's love, it's all worth it in the end, so that's definitely why I'm here," said volunteer Shelby Prince.
The world changers are holding worship services at Calvary Baptist Church every night this week at 7:30. The community is invited to attend.
