The Meridian Board of Realtors presented a check in the amount of $2,000 to the Lauderdale County Habitat for Humanity Wednesday.
The donation was made possible through the realtor car tag program, where realtors may purchase a special license plate bearing the realtor logo.
"It allows us an opportunity to not only support them financially, but also with labor. Many of our members go out and assist in the building of the homes and it gives us a true sense of accomplishment that is directly related to our business," said Boyd Williams of the Meridian Board of Realtors.
There are approximately 850 of these specialty plates statewide. Each plate raises $24.00 for Habitat for Humanity.
