Voters in five communities of the Mississippi band of Choctaw Indians voted in mid-term elections on Tuesday.
Tribe spokesperson Creda Stewart says the results are still being tallied, including a moderate-to-heavy number of absentee ballots.
Tribal council seats were on the ballot in Tucker, Pearl River, Bogue Chitto, Standing Pine and Conehatta.
The results will be official when accepted by the tribal council at an official meeting in a couple of weeks.
