Project Trail is a six-week-long, nature-based prevention program.
The goal is to teach children an appreciation of nature and apply that same appreciation toward themselves and stay away from harmful activities, such as illegal drugs.
"Ultimately, we would like them to gain an appreciation of their own bodies through exercise and good nutrition," said Kyra Wilson, Project Trail director, "seeing themselves as part of the earth and not wanting to pollute that in any way through drugs or alcohol."
