Two more Mississippi units received mobilization orders Tuesday. It's part of a growing build-up of troops for a possible showdown with Iraq.

About 16 members of the Mississippi Air National Guard's 248th Air Traffic Control Squadron in Meridian, part of the 186th Air Refueling Wing, was temporarily activated for deployment overseas.

The Mississippi Army National Guard's 113th Military Police Company, headquartered in Brandon, could be on active duty for 24 consecutive months under the presidential partial mobilization.

The Guard says there's no indication how long the troops will be needed.

The Brandon MP company's 160 soldiers will report to their armory later this month to prepare for departure to Fort Benning, Georgia. Then the troops will deploy to an undisclosed location overseas.
