Gov. Haley Barbour says he will ask the Legislature limit casinos to counties where they are already located. He made his comments during a speech at the the Southern Gaming Summit in Biloxi.

Barbour said he will present the casino moratorium issue to lawmakers in an upcoming special session. A similar bill failed in the 2008 regular session that ended in April.

Barbour said he may ask lawmakers to reconsider a casino tax incentive, a proposal that also failed in the regular session, but only if it has the votes to pass. The proposal would have given casinos tax breaks for building non-gaming projects like hotels and golf courses.

Mississippi casino operators got some good news: Barbour says casino taxes are high enough. He also will oppose a lottery in Mississippi.

Of course Barbour is not for a lottery, his "fat cat" friends would not profit from that!! Besides, we poor "ignorant" citizens might have a chance to get lucky and spend a dollar and win!! Its much better for someone to spend their entire paycheck in a casino. He did not get in this game to help the "little people" after all. That has been painfully obvious by how little he has done for anyone in this state but his "buds"
