The United Way of East Mississippi and West Alabama wants to remind you about a chance to help the needy in our community Saturday.

The agency partners with the National Association of Letter Carriers annually for its annual "Can-A-Thon", in conjunction with the "Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive".

This is the 16th year postal workers have coordinated an event like this to gather food, as letter carriers work their routes.

You may put canned goods and other non-perishable food in your mailbox to be picked up by letter carriers and distributed to people who need food.

Locally, the goods will go to The Salvation Army, Wesley House and Victory Outreach.
