Under moonlight, Lauderdale County's Relay For Life went on all night. It is always a fun event, but also a solemn one for many who have been touched by cancer or who have lost friends to the disease.

Miranda Gonzalez has definitely been touched,as have so many at the event. Her mother and father both have had cancer. Her mother had breast cancer while her father had bladder cancer.

"When you love someone and they tell you they have cancer, you feel much of what they feel. The same trauma the same heartache," said Gonzalez.

Event organizers say they met their $300,000 goal. This year Relay was moved to the Northeast Recreation Park instead of Meridian High School's Ray Stadium. And to keep the event interesting organizers added a talent competition called Relay Idol.
