The Philadelphia-Neshoba County board of tourism did its part to promote the state Tuesday.

Representatives of the board, and tourist attractions in the area, visited the Lauderdale County Welcome Center for National Tourism Week.

"And we brought artisans from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians with us. We have a person that does bead work for their cultural dress. And we also have a basket weaver that does traditional Indian baskets," said Kaye Rowell, Neshoba County tourism director.

Rowell said the county wants to meet motorists passing through to expose them to the attractions of Neshoba County, as well as Mississippi.
