The death of an inmate at the East Mississippi Correctional Facility at Lost Gap is under investigation by authorities.
The prisoner, a White male, died sometime after lockdown at 10:00 p.m. Sunday.
The inmate's name has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
A cellmate was present at the time the inmate died but the cause of death had not been verified by an autopsy.
Three deaths at the privately run prison, that were determined to be suspicious, have been sent to grand juries during the past year.
