Alabama Earthquake Measures 3.1 Save Email Print

A small earthquake occurred Friday afternoon near Coffeeville, Ala., in Clarke County, about 75 miles north of Mobile. Clarke County is in the southwest part of the state and borders Choctaw County.

There were no reports of injuries or serious damage. Many people said they didn't feel anything. Some did report furniture being knocked over.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the 3.1-magnitude quake struck about 1:39 p.m. Friday.
