Arrest Made in Oxford Murder

Oxford police have charged an Ole Miss student with the murder of another student.

Twenty-two-year-old David Jackson Williams is accused in the death of Demetria Bracey of Jackson, also a student at Ole Miss.

Bracey was found stabbed to death in a closet at Williams' off-campus apartment on Tuesday.

Bracey was a Murrah High School graduate and a good student. Other residents of her dorm thought she had gone home to visit her family.

"She started out a little bit later than a lot of other people in her class," said Murrah band director, Brian Jefferson. "And she was able to catch up very rapidly. She turned out to be a very good clarinet player. She actually made all-city. Even in middle school, started out late and she made it in high school as well."

Williams is a senior from Olive Branch, Miss., majoring in business-finance. He transferred to Ole Miss in 2004 from Northwest Community College and was a student in good standing with no disciplinary trouble.
