The Jimmie Rodgers Foundation is happy to announce its first concert for 2006. On Jan. 19, 2006, 2nd Mile and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound will be in concert at Northcrest Baptist Church in Meridian, Miss.
"Back by popular demand, these groups will thrill you with their renditions of southern gospel music at its best," said Betty Lou Jones, the foundation president.
Tickets are on sale at Northcrest Baptist Church and both locations of Bible book stores in downtown Meridian and Bonita Lakes Mall.
There are 50 artist circles (first two rows) on sale at $20 each.
General admission tickets purchased in advance are $12.00. General admission tickets purchased day of concert will be $15.00.
Doors of the church will open at 6:00 p.m. The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Looking for a unique Christmas gift? Two advance tickets will be $24 and are guaranteed to please any southern gospel music fan.
"The foundation is especially grateful to Northcrest Baptist Church for its support of good gospel music and for making their fantastic facilities available for this concert," said Jones.
The Jimmie Rodgers Foundation focuses on providing musical events to enhance the memory of Meridian's own Jimmie Rodgers, the father of country music. His unique style of music was a forerunner of today's gospel music. This concert will be the first of many musical events which will be presented throughout 2006.
