A former principal was sentenced Friday in federal court for embezzlement from the Meridian Public School District.
Judy Radcliff is to serve 30 months confinement and three years of supervised release. The former principal of West End Elementary was ordered to make restitution of $217,505.68.
Radcliff is to report to begin serving her sentence on Feb. 6, 2006.
Radcliff pleaded guilty to conspiring to steal federal Title One funds and reading grants. The money was funneled to others without delivery of goods or services. Radcliff received kickbacks.
Also Friday, co-defendant Joycelyn Wilson received five months in prison and must make restitution of $48,178.20.
Prosecutors dropped eight other counts against Radcliff and Wilson in exchange for guilty pleas to one charge and restitution.
