Santa made a visit to Meridian Thursday and granted an early Christmas wish for fifty beautiful boys and girls. It was the 16th Annual Wesley House Christmas Party, sponsored by WTOK and Rush Hospital.
"This is really building wonderful memories for these children," said Wesley House executive director, Nell Grissom. "They will always remember the parties at the Carousel House at WTOK. They will always remember that."
And, of course, every child got to sit in Santa's lap. And every good little girl and good little boy got an early Christmas present.
"All of these boys and girls have been good," said Santa. "And I'm glad I got a chance to see them. No coal this year!"
The Christmas party was complete with pizza, music, and a ride on the Dentzel Carousel. Organizers said it was a perfect way to share the spirit of the holidays.
"Christmas is very sad for many people. A lot of these children have sadness in their homes, a lot of us do. And so, this really helps to get them in the Christmas spirit. And if you'll listen very closely, you can tell they've got the spirit. They absolutely do have the spirit," Grissom said.
