According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, there will be no construction work ongoing at the Stack in Jackson during the holidays, but crews will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
There will be possible delays after the Christmas holidays on U.S. Highway 49 and Clinton-Raymond Road, weather permitting.
Motorists traveling through South Mississippi will encounter delays at the following locations:
Interstate-59 near Purvis U. S. Highway 90 in Harrison County
There will be no construction work during the holidays at the following locations listed below, but beginning Monday, Dec. 26, construction crews will resume work and motorists will encounter delays:
U.S. Highway 45A in Lowndes County between the Noxubee County Line and Artesia.
State Route 178 in New Albany, Union County, and at the Tallahatchie River Bridge replacement site.
State Route 25 in Winston and Oktibbeha Counties between Louisville and the Starkville bypass.
Construction crews will be working on a landscape project which will cause delays on State Route 25 and State Route 182 at Mississippi State University in Oktibbeha County.
Construction crews will be working on a widening project which will cause delays on State Route 8 at Houston in Chickasaw County.
Construction crews will not be working on the following projects across the state on Dec. 23, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 due to the holiday season.
U.S. Highway 61 - Jefferson County from Adams County line to South of Fayette.
U.S. Highway 61 - Jefferson and Claiborne Counties from Fayette bypass to south of the Natchez Trace.
Bike Trail Claiborne and Jefferson Counties from Alcorn State University to the Natchez Trace.
U.S. Highway 51 Holmes County between Goodman and Durant.
Interstate-20 Warren County from the Mississippi River Bridge to Bovina.
U.S. Highway 61 - Warren County Traffic Signal at Dana Road.
Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limits, slow down when entering work zones, never drink and drive, and always remember to buckle up for safety.
