MPD Files Child Abuse Charge

Meridian Police charged a local man with felony child abuse over the weekend.

Roderick Bennamon, 19, was arrested Saturday, the same day the alleged incident was reported to police.

The victim was under one year of age, according to Detective Dean Harper.

The baby was taken to a Jackson hospital for treatment of head injuries.
