Roberts to Lead West End

Meridian school superintendent, Dr. Janet Mclin, introduced Owida Roberts as the acting principal for West End Elementary School at a Tuesday PTA meeting.

Roberts said she is goal-oriented and student-oriented and ready to get to work.

"I'm really, really glad that West End has parents that are totally involved," said Roberts. "The teachers and students are here and we're all ready, so we're just going to keep things running smoothly."

Roberts, who officially starts next Monday, said raising student test scores will be a major focus.
