Existing Disaster Recovery Centers in Mississippi will be open on Presidents' Day, Monday, Feb. 20, to serve those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Hours remain Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Thirteen locations are still available on Presidents Day to provide face-to-face assistance. More than 420,000 people have visited one or more of the centers to receive help and information.
Officials encourage all Hurricane Katrina victims to apply for assistance before the Mar. 11, 2006, deadline by calling the FEMA toll-free application number at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 for the speech or hearing-impaired, or visiting the FEMA Web site at www.fema.gov
