Bringing people of all races together was the subject of Mission Meridian's first annual unity luncheon.
The theme was "Unity in the Community" and all sectors were included. Religious, business, and civic leaders participated. Mission Meridian's executive director said all groups need to communicate for Meridian to succeed.
"What we're trying to do is bring about a togetherness in the community. And as you see right now, it's on the mind of individuals," said John C. Harris. "And I think we must become unified as a city and as a community in order to bring forth progress."
The guest speaker was Veldore Young, an assistant district attorney for the Tenth Circuit Court.
