The Mississippi State University Riley Center's education efforts received a boost Wednesday from the Community Foundation of East Mississippi.
The $1,000 donation will support education programs designed to reach school age children.
Scholarships will be offered for the Riley Center's Discovery Series being presented in the next few months at the Temple Theatre.
"It validates the quality of our programs," said MSU Riley Center Executive Director Dennis Sankovich. "And it also will make it possible for a lot of young people who can't otherwise afford to attend a number of educational programs that we'll make available."
The Community Foundation's gift will be applied to the Riley Center's presentation of Buffalo Soldier on Mar. 31 and Aesop's Fables on May 9.
