I haven't heard anything about why Pickering filed for divorce. But I can imagine Washington could easily take a toll on a person's personal life. I feel bad for the Pickering family. Tough enough to go through a divorce without having to release a statement to the media. That's really just not our business. I don't care very much for Trent Lott. He's made me angry many times. But Dickie Scruggs is married to his wife's sister. I hope I'm never held accountable for the actions of whoever marries my wife's sisters.

Does anyone know why Chip Pickering is retiring at such a young age? Also, there's been no mention of his divorce. Are the two connected? I get suspicious when people start retiring after their relatives are convicted of wrong-doings and we've had our share of that lately.
