The wife of a Pickens County judge faces drug related charges in Columbus, Miss., following her arrest Saturday night.
Police said they followed 42-year-old Christy Dawn Wheat Colvin while she allegedly shopped for items used to manufacture methamphetamine.
She was stopped on U.S. Highway 82 and officers said a drug dog found a small amount of meth in the vehicle she was driving. Colvin was also charged with driving with an expired tag.
Police Corporal Donnie Elkins said officers were tipped off that a woman had stopped at several stores in Columbus trying to purchase cold medicines. The product contains ingredients used to make the illegal drug.
