A shooting happened late Monday afternoon in Clarke County. Sheriff Todd Kemp said a water association meter reader was shot by a resident.

Kemp said Bobby Ray Donald was shot after a dispute with Richard Lawson.

Officials said the dispute was apparently about some plumbing work Donald had previously done for Lawson.

Donald was taken to the hospital, but his wounds didn't appear to be life- threatening.

Lawson is charged with aggravated assault.
