A pair of bicyclists included Meridian in a worldwide tour Thursday.

Aaron Hicks and Jessica Kapicka gave up everything they own to ride, and at the same time, raise money to start a community for low-income residents.

The two began their journey over 800 miles ago. With thousands of miles ahead of them, this couple plans to break more than five world records, while training for the 2012 Olympics.

"Records that we hope to break is, we are actually going to be the first mountain bike riders to ride all seven continents, including Antarctica," said Hicks.

"Along with that we are going to be breaking several different time records, and a couple of female records as well," said Kapicka.

The pair headed for Jackson, Miss., Thursday morning. Both are sponsored through Sleep Inn and Holiday Inn for their overnight rest stops.
