Interstate Drug Bust

Two Georgia men face charges for allegedly transporting drugs on Interstate 20 through Newton County.

Elmer Ray Berry has been charged with possession of crystal methamphetamine and possession of precursors. A second suspect has not been formally charged.

Newton police Chief Harvey Currie said $14,000 in cash was also confiscated with an officer made a routine traffic stop.

Both suspects are held in the Newton County Jail.
