A committee of Lauderdale County citizens working on the proposed Southern Arts and Entertainment Center project met Wednesday with Paul Ott, chairman of the planning organization. Ott said all is going well.
"The Arts and Entertainment Center is well and alive. We've gotten a report that we've gotten substantial money and that's the name of the game because everything else is ready to go," said Ott. "It's just a matter of hiring a fulltime executive director that every morning when they get up, their feet hits the ground and say what can I do for the entertainment center today? That's what we need."
Ott said virtually every entertainer, writer and artist with Mississippi roots has indicated they will help in the effort to build the center at the Bonita Lakes site.
