A Clarke County family spent the day Sunday searching for the person who ran off the road and hit their house and one of the vehicles.

Jennifer Parker and her husband woke up earlier than expected when at five am a full size truck rammed into their house taking out one of their vehicles in the process.

"This is what we saw.. someone had run into our garage and my husband's truck and then took off. It was too late to see who it was," said Jennifer Parker.

The driver got away without the Parkers even spotting a license plate. They spent the day searching the community for anyone who might know something about the early morning incident that could have been extremely dangerous.

"He left half of his truck as well. We are surprised he was able to make it out of the driveway," said Parker.

Later in the day, the Parkers were informed by the Clarke County Sheriff's department that the driver was a juvenile and his mother realized that he had been in an accident and contacted authorities.

The Parkers say they aren't interested in pressing charges, but they do hope the drivers family will pay for the damage to their house and truck. No one was injured in the incident.

Let me clear the air. The truck was not stolen the guy who ran into my house owned that truck. My family is very thankful he hit the garage. If Mr.Kennedy hit 10 more ft to the right he would have hit my bedroom. The problem my husband and I have is he drove away. If he honestly fell asleep then why did he run? He made himself guilty by speeding off w/out telling someone what he did until later the next day. Mr. Kennedy I want to tell you one thing... I have two small children and you could have killed them! I have not once heard an apology! why??? If you claim you had nothing to hide and you fell asleep then it was an accident, but no you ran like a coward and said nothing to nonone. Grow up!!!! You need to take full responsibilty for what you did. My husband and I work hard for everything we have. We now own a brand new wrecked truck and a house with a hole in it.

Thank you for the update, guess this puts a different spin on the situation. As an adult, especially at approx 26, this had to be a deliberate act on his part. Thankfully no one was hurt or worse killed, however that does not mean financially it is any less of a crime as there are two other households besides his own that are involved. Finances are hard enough in this economy without someone stealing what does not belong to them, destroying the property and the property of others. I can only hope that justice prevails and that FULL restitution is made to the households most affected by this....The "rightful" owner of the vehicle and the owners of the home and their vehicle.
