The Meridian Fire Department and emergency response personnel quickly responded to a fire alarm at the Riley Foundation Monday afternoon.
Firefighters searched the building thoroughly before finding the cause of the alarm.
"We arrived on the scene and encountered some light smoke in the halls," said Howard Gibson, battalion chief. "Searched the building real good and found it to be the air conditioning unit. It had some motors and stuff that had burned up."
No one was injured during the incident. The foundation's fire alarm is tied into the fire department dispatch system.
