Have you ever wanted to jump and Velcro yourself to a wall? Today was the day many got to do just that at Northeast Middle School's Fall Fun Day.

While this day of fun was about raising funds for the school, the students had the joy of taking a break from the pencils and the books...

When asked what his favorite part of being there was, Northeast Middle School student John Austin said, "Just being here!"

Another student, Aurian Crawford, said her favorite activity of the day was rock climbing. "It's fun because when you let go of the rocks and you go down you just feel like you're falling."

This and other school fund raisers are the result of the work of the Northeast Middle Parent Teacher Student Organization. This year, the hope is that enough money can be raised for the PTSO to build a new physical fitness room for the students and teachers.

Northeast Middle School Principal Billy Burnham said, "The PTSO plans it and puts it on. PTSO has done a great job here over the last couple of years....The money they make from this goes toward school projects. We're very thankful to have a very supportive PTO group."

The PTSO has spent around $50,000 on the school in the past two years. With some of that money, they built a covered outdoor eating area for students to eat lunch.

But even with all that hard work, PTSO members still are having a blast...

Darrene Hall, President of the Northeast MIddle School PTSO, said, "Oh my gosh! It's been a blast so far! I think it's went over really well!"

While this fund raiser is a big revenue maker for Northeast Middle School, there's one they say is an even bigger money maker....

Ms. Hall said, "We do chocolate every year, which is our biggest fund raiser because, of course, everyone loves chocolate. So that's usually our biggest...we do it around January and February, and that generates a good bit of revenue for us, so when you see the children coming with the candy please feel free to indulge."
