For the second year in a row Meridian is taking part in one of the world's largest garage sales. The annual "Antique Alley" covers over 500 miles with furniture, antiques, books and more.
One man's trash is another man's treasure. From picture frames and furniture to lamps and books, you name it, you can find it here.
"I love antiques and stuff like these old cans and stuff and the antique furniture, I love all of it," said shopper, Brenda Simmons.
The yard sale was created with the premise of pulling people off of the busy interstates and major highways and into the heart of business districts and communities.
The antique alley 4 day yard sale begins in Meridian and follows the historic U.S. Hwy 11 through small and large cities to its destination in Bristo,l Virginia.
Vendors can be found all along the sale route in the form of yard sales and businesses, in downtown districts and in many antique stores.
"This will be going on all weekend until sun down and we will be out here until I don't have anything else to sell," said Billy Campbell, who helped organize locally.
